JESUS COMMANDS LEVI TO FOLLOW HIM AND EATS WITH HIM. Lk.5:27-31 & Mk.2:13-17 Lk.5 27 …and he saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said to him, (Mk.2:14 & Lk.5:27) "Follow me." 28 And he left all, rose up, and followed him. 29 And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of tax collectors and of others that sat down with them. 30 But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, (one) saying, (Lk.5:30) "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners? (another) (Mk.2:16) "How is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?" Lk.5 31 And Jesus answering said to them, (Mk.2:17) "The strong, (Lk.5:31) the healthy (Mk.2:17 & Lk.5:31) do not need a physician but those who are sick. (Mk.2:17) I did not come to call the righteous, (Lk.5:32) I have not come to call the righteous,(Mk.2:17 & Lk.5:31) but sinners to repentance." Cf. Matt.9:9
