The key to the synoptic problem

        The list of events or teachings shown below is sufficient to show that some events are identical events and that some other
   events are merely similar events. The identical events maintain the same sequence throughout the Gospels, even though each
   event is not necessarily mentioned in every Gospel. On the other hand, similar events are only recorded once and have no exact
   match in another Gospel. The fact that there are indeed events which are similar and not the same is obvious since similar events
   occur in the same Gospel. It must be noted that although the vast majority of events can with certainty be said to be either identical
   or similar, there are a very small number of events which have a degree of uncertainty to them. Nevertheless allowing for this, the
   chart below now shows that instead of only 18 identical events forming a chronology, as shown in obvious chronology it now can
   be seen that there are 136 identical events, which are chronologically ordered.
